Amagi closes agreement to acquire Tellyo
Amagi, a global leader in cloud-based SaaS technology for streaming, FAST and connected TV, announced the signing of an agreement to acquire Tellyo, a leading real-time cloud trimming, editing and remote production platform. This move comes with the aim of bringing new solutions to Amagi's video portfolio for live sports and news broadcasts, improving the live video streaming and editing experience for customers around the world.
Tellyo enables media and content teams to produce engaging live videos that can be streamed to multiple digital and social media destinations using Stream Studio. The company enables the simultaneous and instant creation and publishing of clips, highlights and compilations with a single click.
Telyo also supports high-quality, real-time video conferences, events, and presentations that bring external contributors and commentators into productions across multiple devices. Using Tellyo's video solutions, athletes, actors, sponsors, ambassadors and influencers can expand their reach and engagement on social media.
Amagi Co-Founder and CEO Baskar Subramanian commented: “We are excited about the opportunities this acquisition brings to Amagi. Tellyo brings a wealth of experience, a strong team and innovative products that perfectly align with our strategic vision to be a leader in cloud-based live streaming technology. Together, we will not only enrich Amagi’s product offering, but also bring investment to the Eastern European region and create new possibilities for local talent and global customers.”
Richard Collins, CEO of Tellyo, expressed optimism about the future: “This move is a testament to our commitment to delivering exceptional value to our customers, employees and investors. We believe that joining forces with Amagi will give us the resources and scale needed to reach new heights. We are excited about the potential of what both companies can offer.”
“We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for Telyo’s customers, employees and partners during this exciting time. Our team is excited and ready to embark on this journey, leveraging the values we share with Tellyo, such as the vision and passion for excellence,” said Srinivasan KA, co-founder and chief revenue officer at Amagi.
With this agreement, Amagi expands its presence in Europe. Last year, Amagi established its development center in Croatia, making it its first unit outside India. By uniting Tellyo's product development center in Poland and Amagi's technology centers in India and Croatia, the expectation is to accelerate cloud innovation in the region.
