Ateme and AD Digital Celebrate One Year of a Successful Partnership in the Brazilian Market
Ateme, one of the global leaders in innovative video solutions, and AD Digital, a solution integrator with nearly 30 years of experience in the market, are celebrating their first year of strategic partnership in April.
This collaboration, initiated in 2023 as part of ATEME's expansion strategy into Latin America, enabled the delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of end-to-end cutting-edge technology, covering compression, contribution, delivery, and streaming areas, to the Brazilian market.
Throughout this year of joint operation, the companies have developed various projects for the Media and Entertainment market, combining Ateme's technological expertise with AD Digital's operational intelligence.
Through this partnership, AD Digital now offers the entire Ateme technological lineup in its portfolio, including solutions for contribution, encoding, packaging, Cloud DVR, CDN, and low-latency streaming, enabling companies to expand their reach and maximize monetization opportunities without compromising on quality or audience experience.
ATEME also played a key role in supporting the development of TV 3.0 in Brazil. This new standard, currently under construction, will be used in the next generation of the country's terrestrial digital television system.
"This year of partnership with AD Digital has significantly contributed to Ateme's growth in the region. Together, the companies have empowered broadcasters and service providers with technologies that enhance user experience, offering better video quality and optimized delivery," adds Gilmar Luna, SVP of Sales and Operations for Latin America and the Caribbean at Ateme. "This partnership with AD Digital is of utmost importance for the development of TV 3.0 in Brazil, a topic in which Ateme takes the lead, as it is part of the standard-setting committee and brings the experience of various ATSC 3.0 implementations in the USA."
The SBTVD Forum, responsible for this development, has selected Versatile Video Coding (VVC), also known as H.266, proposed by the consortium formed by Ateme and other major companies, as the mandatory video encoding technology for Brazil's new TV 3.0 standard. Additionally, Ateme also contributed to the selection of MPEG-H audio technology. These technologies will be crucial for delivering a high-quality viewing experience, supporting formats like 8K, HDR, and AR/VR, as well as enabling efficient content delivery through hybrid broadcast and broadband networks.
"At the very beginning, it became clear to our entire team that the partnership with ATEME would pave the way for new opportunities in terrestrial and cloud distribution, especially when it comes to TV 3.0. Throughout this year of work, this vision is confirmed," said Hugo Nascimento, CTO of AD Digital. "The delivery of a cloud-agnostic solution and software-based approach fits seamlessly with everything we already have in our portfolio and allows us to continue supporting our clients' ecosystems with quality."
AD Digital, known for its focus on co-creating innovative solutions, integration, and service provision within media ecosystems, found in the partnership a strategic opportunity to expand its portfolio of offerings.
Both companies celebrate the success of the partnership over the past year and are eager to continue offering innovative and high-quality solutions to the Brazilian Media and Entertainment market.
